Update: Andrew’s recent blood tests reveal normal levels for his age. This is a dramatic change from his levels seven weeks ago which caused the heart attack. He continues to take his medications, eat a prescribed diet, and exercise daily. He is feeling great and has returned to work. The Andrew Heart Benefit Golf Tournament was a great success. We are appreciative of the support shown. |
Welcome to Andrew's Foundation Page
About Andrew: He is graduate of W. F. West. He has worked at Riverside Golf Club since 1997. For the last three years, Andrew has been the Superintendent at Riverside. He lives in Napavine with his wife Sheena and dog Chance. He is 28 and loves to play golf and fish.
Andrew's Heart Attack: Most of you know Andrew suffered a heart attack while working the US Open at Pebble Beach on June 20th. He was treated at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula where two stints were inserted to unclog arteries. He was most fortunate to be only five minutes from the Monterey cardiac specialty center. This probably saved his life.

In short, Andrew has a genetic coronary disease where cholesterol is not processed by his body systems. Fortunately medication, diet, and exercise will help control this condition.
Prognosis
Andrew is expected to make a full recovery. Of course there will be diet restrictions and medications required. His is presently back at work full time but with lifting and exertion restrictions.
Expenses
Right now his uncovered medical expenses are anticipated to run approximately $12,000 a year. This could change depending on future health insurance plans and eligibility for medication programs. His expenses will be updated periodically on this site. His health insurance will require the first $5000 out of pocket each year. He is presently on six medications which will run near $650 per month. Several have no generic substitute.
Purpose of the Foundation
This foundation exists so concerned friends and supporters can contribute financial support to help with the ongoing costs of recovering from his heart attack. We are hoping this unforeseen event will have a happy financial ending. |
